Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 87

Christianity gets a bad rap. So many think we are all about rules and regs. I don’t see it.  Certainly I do believe firmly in right and wrong. I believe as Christians we should do the right and shun the wrong. But I don’ t  see Christianity primarily as a system of moral conduct. I see it as the celebration of a relationship that was won for me by the grace of God. Here is what I see in Deut. 16 and 17.

Deuteronomy chapter 16 sermon topics/titles:

1. In Honor Celebrate: Deut. 16:1-8

2. Remember It Was God Who Set You Free: Deut. 16:1-3

3. Three Things To Celebrate: Deut. 16

3. Don’t Choose A Solomon: Deut. 17:14-20

Now tell me what you see! Only 11 more charts until the end of our contest! 🙂

Heaven Pt. 48

“Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens [is] the LORD’S thy God, the earth [also], with all that therein [is]. Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, [even] you above all people, as [it is] this day. Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.” Deut. 10: 14-16 KJV

I am always amazed that the God of Heaven, the Lord of Creation, The One who could have done absolutely anything…had absolutely anybody chose to make me! He chose me in Him before time began!

On any given day, when I am feeling less than this thought alone can make my heart soar. He chose me! And He chose you! The question is will you choose Him?

Let’s pray: God some days I do not understand why in the world you would ever have chosen me. Who am I? But no matter how I may think about it Your Word says you chose me. Thank You for that God and now I choose You and I choose Jesus! I am Yours again! I am Yours always! In Jesus Name A-men!

Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 74

The Old Testament is full of fire and blood. It is a mighty reminder that God is justice as well as love. It was His love that led Him to institute sacrifice as a way of bringing the human race back to Himself. That way  ultimately led  to the offering of His own son, Jesus, as the ultimate and final sacrifice upon the cross of Calvary. Today, Good Friday, we remember Christ’s sacrifice and look at it in light of Numbers 28 and 29.

Numbers 28 sermon topics/ titles:

1. Jesus, the Everyday Sacrifice: Nu. 28: 1-8

2. Jesus, Our Rest: Nu. 28: 9,10

3. Jesus, Our Atoning Sacrifice: Nu. 28: 16-22

Numbers chapter 29 sermon topics/ titles:

1. Jesus, the Sacrifice of Praise: Nu. 29: 1-5

2. Jesus, the End of Sacrifice: Nu. 29: 12-39

3. Jesus, Our Freewill Offering: Nu. 29:39-40

What do you see?

Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 73

It is hard to believe we have been away from the chapter charts for a whole week! I hope that God has shown you many mighty things in the in-between-time. Today I would like to hear what God says to you from Numbers chapter 26 and 27.

Here are the steps to chapter charting:

1. Read the chapters in question

2. Brainstorm three ideas for sermons or writings from the chapters

3. Write the ideas down in title or topic form

Here is what I see in Numbers 26 and 27

Numbers chapter 26 sermon topics/ titles:

1. Counting Your Assets In the Enemy’s Presence: Nu.  26:1-51

2.  Not By Man’s Choice By God’s: Nu. 26:52-56

3. Not Moved So Removed: Nu. 26:63-65

Numbers chapter 27 sermon topics/ titles:

1. The Right To Inherit: Nu. 27: 1-11

2. Are You A Daughter at the Door? Nu. 27:1-11

3.  Preparing a Successor: Nu. 27: 15-22

What do you see?

Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 72

I love the Bible because of its honesty about the complexity of humanity. The characters which walk through the pages of The Book can hardly be called flat or one- sided. The Bible shows its people…truly shows them in all their human joy and misery. Balaam for instance, the sorcerer/ pagan bank rolled by God’s enemies working as a double agent for God and then trying to stick the knife in God’s back on the way out the door even as he slits his own throat, what a mess this guy was! And yet how like us; We’re on God’s side one second and then we forget He even exists the next. We like to think we would never find ourselves in such messy situations as the biblical characters, until of course we’re suddenly there!

Here is what I got out of today’s chapter charts!

Numbers chapter 24 sermon topics/titles:

1. Not Sorcery! Prophecy! Nu. 24:1-3

2. Falling Down, Seeing Clearly: Nu. 24:3-9

3. A Star, A Scepter Nu. 24: 15-19

Numbers chapter 25 sermon topics/titles:

1. How To Lose the Unloseable Blessing: Nu. 25:1-5

2. Flaunting Sin In A Place Of Repentance: Nu. 25: 6-9

3. When Family Becomes Enemy: Nu. 25: 16-18

What do you see?
