I wanted to give you all a little better glimpse of my recent trip to PA to visit with my son.

First Forray 2013
A few years back God told me I would be doing some travelling. He told me with every journey I was to seek His purpose in it.
This week my daughters and I traveled to PA to visit my son.
Our purpose was to reconnect with each other…and to catch up on some long neglected reading. I think I read about a hundred blogs!
We arrived late Sunday night; So after a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast the girls and I met up with Joe at his campus and headed out to…
The Shady Maple! My son was soooo happy to see my daughters.
Joe has become quite a young man. I am proud of him! Part of our reconnect on this brief journey was to find out his plans after graduation. It is hard to believe he is just short months away from that date and from the title Pastor Joe.
Here are some of our other pictures from that trip:
Ringing In the New Year Pt. 3
Our church begins every new year with 21 days of fasting and prayer. I am sensing that the season of prayer in 2013 will be perhaps the most significant of them all. Our Lead Pastor has asked the congregation to join him in a Daniel fast. We are also going to be participating in a church-wide Bible study campaign called The Circle Maker.
Last night I received a call about yet another death in our congregation. Maybe it’s just my vantage point but it seems that all our world is shaking. I sense deep in my heart it is not going to stop. Prayer is our solid ground. Let me encourage you to find your secret place of prayer with Jesus as 2013 dawns! For He is our hope and a mighty source of strength! As Robin Mark has written “Though these are days of great trials, of famine and darkness and sword, still we are the voice in the desert crying “Prepare Ye the way of the Lord.” Days of Elijah
I appreciate those of you who have commented about praying for this season of mourning for our church. I sense the power of those prayers. Here’s the thing! I am determined to claim victory in the face of every enemy that confronts the church in Winchendon. In this mighty battle we have the high ground for we have Jesus. Our Savior has defeated even Satan’s greatest weapon which is death. Those who have passed from this realm in the last months have gone onto glory according to their Christian testimony. Theirs is a mighty overcoming. In the light of that, though Satan’s weapons sting in the moment of their release our shield of faith quenches every fiery dart.
In 2013 let the church raise up a constant praise to silence the foe and the avenger wherever he may gather against us to battle! Be brave my friends! Be brave and advance against this present darkness!
Twas the Month Before Christmas (Author Unknown)
Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away
the reason for Christmas – no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing
about Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just another ‘ Holiday ‘.
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Home Depot the word “Christmas” was nowhere to be found.
At WalMart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears
You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Pelosi, Now Sharpton and Reed,
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they ousted our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before started. So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’ Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me. Choose your words carefully, choose what you say Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,not Happy Holiday!
Missions Conference 2012 Pt. 2
On Sunday Chai Alpha Campus Ministries from UMASS Amherst came out and shared their ministry with us. They made free lattes for the congregation and shared about the Freedom Cafe they are setting up on the campus.
check out the work of Chai Alpha to the 30,000 UMASS students in Amherst here:
When I consider the miraculous work that our missionaries do I am humbled by the fact that God would even allow me to be a part of this glorious kingdom He is building.
Here is Shane Adams’ and Dan Johnson’s testimony along with Sunday’s message “It’s Time To Take A Stand”

Pastor Wrinkles: Hey Jude Pt. 11
“And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.” Jude 1:7 NLT
Jude is in the middle of describing a group of people who have secretly slipped into the church of his day. He begins describing them using three different examples: The first example points to the “secret- slipper-inner’s” unbelief; The second points to their rebellious hearts; The third example he uses in verse seven points to their sexual immorality.
I recently watched a documentary on the historicity of Sodom and Gomorrah. The director chose to interview a theologian from my home state in the U.S. who declared that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was not actually homosexuality or even sexual in nature at all. In fact according to the “good prof” Sodom and Gomorrah came under the judgement of God for the sin of being inhospitable. I guess she never read Jude verse 7!
The sad fact today is that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah could just as easily be renamed the story of San Francisco and Georgia. The whole issue of homosexuality pushed aside for a moment our society is rife with promiscuity of every sort. I perceive that there is hardly a man or woman in America, Christian or not, who isn’t touched by the oversexed atmosphere in some way. As I have contemplated this post I have become quite sure that the founders of all our denominations would be shocked at what we say is appropriate behavior. Pick John Wesley or Knox, Spurgeon or Moody out of their time and put them in our living rooms for a night and see what their reaction to our TV shows and rock music is.
I am convicted of some things even as I write. There is tightening up to do. What do my eyes regard? What do my ears itch for? What must I repent of in order to assure that my name is not written among the secret- slipper-inners.
What about you?
I have some praying to do!
Prayer… 8 P.M. Every Night Pt. 2
I reblogged this a few days ago and am just following up with all of y’all. How is it going? What has God shown you in the last few days?
A Newscaster’s Prophecy 1965
Don’t miss this! It’s alarming where we are today!
Heaven Pt. 55
“Now look down from your holy dwelling place in heaven and bless your people Israel and the land you swore to our ancestors to give us—a land flowing with milk and honey.'” Deut. 26:15
Oh how we need God to look down upon our nations and bless them again!
Let’s Pray: One more time God! Bring us a last days harvest! Let us see another revival and restore us with renewal! Lord we sit before you in repentance! Hear our cry and heal our land! Forgive our wicked ways! We confess and turn to You! Sanctify your church again without spot or wrinkle! May we be a holy remnant and may we be enough to preserve our nation for another move of God! A-men
Whatever nation you hail from may this be your heart’s prayer today and may God hear your voice- JE
Christmas Joy Monday Pt. 3
I could subtitle this post “Hat-Head”.
At our church’s recent Christmas movie event we were overrun by Christmas elves and their hats!It was all the head elf’s idea!
But it was fully endorsed by his wife, the head elfette. She was in charge of the movie and cookie decorating!
Santa and his reindeer showed up to make the pop corn. Looks like Santa has some fattening up to do between now and Christmas Eve!
These elves were part of a line up, to find out who stole the cookies from the cookie jar.
It turned out to be this elf.She was too embarrassed to show her face after getting caught.
It’s a good thing this strapping young elf was there to shed some light on the subject!
For my big finish I leave you with this Christmas blessing!
What exciting plans does your community have going on this season?
