One night a year during the Christmas season our church family gathers to send Christmas carollers out into the community. This is an opportunity for the two areas of ministry I work in ( creative arts and pastoral care) to meld together to bless our townships. I love the chances God’s children get at Christmas to spread the Light of Jesus.
Fail not to call to mind, in the course of the twenty-fifth of this month, that
the Divinest Heart that ever walked the earth was born on that day; and then
smile and enjoy yourselves for the rest of it; for mirth is also of Heaven’s
making. ~Leigh Hunt
Isaiah 9:2 tells us that people walking in darkness will see a great light. That light God has chosen to shine through us! What an awesome privilege we have to be chosen to be His ministers to the world!
Great little One! whose all-embracing birth
Lifts Earth to Heaven, stoops
Heaven to Earth.
~Richard Crashaw
Who is God calling you to share the light with this Christmas? Nothing else about this season is as important!

What a wonderfully uplifting post, Pastor J–thank you so much for blessing us!! Merry Christmas to you and the fam–love, sis Caddo
THanks Sis! Meeeeery Christmas
Thank you, Pastor J for this is the first year I have joined in the Christmas carolling and boy, was I blessed. The last house we stopped was a special blessing that night, the peace of God fell like a warm blanket covering us. It was so beautiful! I can’t even put into words how blessed I felt. The joy of the Lord was so evident in all who sang and in all who received. It is so nice we can share the joy we have for Jesus Christ with others. A-men!!!
Our last house was a great blessing as well Deb! We had an opportunity to pray healing and blessing! We are so blessed to be given opportunity to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in ministry!
You brought us the joy and hope and light of caroling with this post! Thank you so much, for all you do, to make Him known! God bless you!
Thanks Deb!
May we all have — correction — may we all USE the opportunities we ARE given to share the love and light of Christ this Christmas season.
Our youth group used to sing carols at nursing homes and we were always well received. The older generation really appreciate the old carols. Thanks for a reminder of those times, and a reminder to pray for those ministering in this way now.
The carols open the way and the opportunity to share preach or pray come more easily with them!
