Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 125

The key to getting closer to God is moving farther and farther away from the ways of the world. We are called to be holy because our Father is holy. You won’t find God wrapped up in the sinful fashions of the world order. So if we are to pursue the relationship He greatly desires we need to come away from the sins which so easily beset us.

Here is what I see in today’s chapters:

I Samuel chapter 7 sermon topics/ titles:

1.  Repent To Return: I Sam 7:1-3

2. Pouring Out the Precious Possession: I Sam. 7:6

3. God Has Helped Us So Far: I Sam. 7: 7-12

I Samuel chapter 8 sermon topics/ titles:

1. A King Of Our Choosing: I Sam. 8: 1-5

2. Rejecting God As King: I Sam. 8:6-18

3. Wanting To Fit In With the World: I Sam. 8:20

Now tell me what you see in these chapters! 🙂

  1. “Wanting To Fit In With the World” so many need to know why this doesn’t give them what they really need. Here’s what I saw in these chapters.
    1 Samuel 7
    1. Do you sometimes feel like the Lord has left you? 1 Sam 7:2
    2. Are you determined to have Him no matter what? 1 Sam 7;3-4
    3. The voice of Thunder. 1 Sam 7:10
    1 Samuel 8
    1. We demand what others have! 1 Sam 8:5
    2. You shall have your king. 1 Sam 8:9
    3. When you don’t heed to His warnings. 1 Sam 8:18-22

  2. Wow, isn’t amazing how the sermon topics relate to God’s people over and over. Praying we will repent and turn back to Him and stop the cycle of seeking a king other than our God and to stop trying to fit into this world. LORD hear our cries. Thanks Jelillie!

    • Amen Tom. We are told again and again about the dangers of relying on organizations of men above God and in our country we are moving (like Europe) quickly toward that model. Let us be seeking the King rather than a king!
