Well while Cee’s autumn seems to be starting, ours is ending. Our nights are beginning to get that wintry feel and snow fly was last week. Here’s what I saw on my walk the other night.
the autumn shine is being replaced with winter’s stark beauty.
Here are this week’s questions and answers:
- Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first? Who needs cake? If it wasn’t wrapped around the frosting in the middle I would probably discard the cake altogether!
- What is your favorite cheese? I love mozzarella, but on spaghetti you can’t beat a good parmesan!
- What is your biggest fear or phobia? (no photos please) Failure. You would think by this point in my life I would be over that but nope.
- Would you dare to sleep in haunted house overnight? Probably not by choice. I figure why expose yourself to dark spirit powers unnecessarily? If you’ve got to stay in a “haunted” location I think the spirit should be dealt with first.
Thanks Cee! Great questions.
I can’t explain it but your photo has my soul stirring I can’t stop staring at it. I don’t know if it is the darkness of the night or the stillness it evokes. I would not sleep overnight in a haunted house by choice either. No thanks!
The sight grabbed me too as I walked along. I was taken by the atmosphere of “almost dark” I feel like that is where we are in the world. Night has almost come! Joy comes in the morning!
A-men to that!
🙂
I really liked your answer to #1. 😀 Big fan of icing myself! God bless you, Pastor J, as you touch your world for Christ!
Yum! You can’t have too much frosting cake is just the backdrop!
Hey, Pastor J!! I don’t think that “failure” fear ever goes away entirely (we live in a performance-based world)–just my opinion. Spaghetti with fresh shredded Parmesan–and don’t forget the garlic bread! God bless you and the fam–love, sis Caddo
Yes indeed. I think the thing I am learning is that it is not men I stand or fall before. My goal must be to please an audience of ONE! And I would never forget the garlic bread YUUUUUUMMMMMY
Hey Bro! So what is so funny is how I feel about that photo…I look at it, and it made me take a breath and relax….Nightfall to me is the most special time of day….I LOVE IT…I REST IN IT….It is quiet, peaceful, undisturbed…and the tree branches are reaching up into the sky almost in praise accepting the last of the light the day has to offer….it is not dark and scary to me…but a peace filled moment you captured….Just my thoughts.
Haunted house…yeah been there done that….not happy about. 🙂 But in the End with the Lord by your side…what is there to fear.
Frosting natuurlijk! Cake after WITH MILK! Frosting….
Cheese….dear me so many to choose from…but I love a good herbed goat cheese spread on french bread…NOM NOM NOM~ and what’s a salad with out fetta????
Phobia: heights-hate em…..get on the ladder anyway…DO IT ANYWAY only way to defeat a fear…conquer it! Fear of failure….only way to conquer it is to try..and realize that if you don’t try….you will have failed already!
Love ya
So true sister! So true!
Here’s another question for you…what if the house had a happy ghost? I loved your answers as also Pastor J. Thanks for being a huge part of SYW!
I’ve met a few “ghosts” in my time…my take is they are unhappy by nature. 🙂
I like answer #1. Whether eating cake, sandwich or anything else, I always keep the best until last, so when I’m eating cake with frosting in the centre, I cut it with a little cake on either side and eat that last. (My excuse: Jesus kept the best til last – John 2:10 – and some would say Genesis 2:21-22)
#3? Failure? Maybe, but more so rejection.
Yeah I would say rejection and failure sort of go hand in hand. Maybe the only reason we are afraid to fail is because we are afraid of who will reject us as a result.
