Friday’s Favorite

This may be several days old but the message is powerful for this entire season! Jesus may come tomorrow! He may come a long time hence (though I think the former more likely than the latter). What will He find you doing?

LOVE-HOPE-PEACE In Our Changing World

Black Friday… a day when multitudes of Americans act irrationally, creating retail chaos.   I would like to share with you a Christ-like alternative to camping out in front of a store, charging through the doors when they’re opened, grabbing items from other people’s hand and completely forgetting the truth of Christmas.  Take a few minutes please to watch this video.  If it moves you, please go to the Gospel For Asia link in my Christian missions section.  The past three years I haven’t purchased many gifts for my “huge” family (7 grown adult children, their mates and my 15 grandchildren).  But,  I have given gifts in the names of my children and grandchildren to families throughout the poorest areas of Asia.  There are 3 things we take for granted in this country– food, warm clothing and clean water.  Millions of Asian fathers or widowed mother are unable to provide…

Waste Your Life

Our youth pastor Brad Hackett preached a continuation of Pastor Risto’s message from last week. God has been making us ready for His kingdom building work in these last days. I am believing God for a great revival before His return. Are you? What do you think that revival will look like?

Share Your World With Cee Cee Pt. 31

Happy week after Thanksgiving everyone! 🙂 I trust that you are all still enjoying the turkey and turnip soup, the chicken pot pies and the cold chicken and stuffing sandwiches. I am eating chicken and rice casserole as I answer Cee’s great questions!

  • What feeds your enthusiasm for life?  Jesus Christ is all my hope and stay. He is my life source and the fire deep in my bones. The thought that I shall dwell with Him forever in eternity causes me to wake everyday with a fresh hope!
  • If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction?  My life would definitely not be an action movie (Indiana Jones I am not) and no one is going to mistake me for the romantic lead. But  a drama driven by sarcastic humor? I think most people could buy that one.
  • If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?  I’d be the guy with the little white dogs in the shiny blue tails and top hat. 🙂
  • You are given $500 and the chance to exchange it for one of two envelopes. One envelope contains $5,000 and one contains $50. Do you make the trade? Why or why not? I’m not much of a gambler. I’d probably keep the $500.00

Twas the Month Before Christmas (Author Unknown)

Twas the month before Christmas

When all through our land,

Not a Christian was praying

Nor taking a stand.

Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away

the reason for Christmas – no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing

about Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say

December 25th is just another ‘ Holiday ‘.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod

Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down

At Home Depot the word “Christmas” was nowhere to be found.

At WalMart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears

You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty

Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Pelosi, Now Sharpton and Reed,

On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter

To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they ousted our faith

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded

The reason for the season, stopped before started.  So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’ Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me. Choose your words carefully, choose what you say Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,not Happy Holiday!

Heaven Pt. 85

“If your people go out where you send them to fight their enemies, and if they
pray to the LORD by turning toward this city you have chosen and toward this
Temple I have built to honor your name, then hear their prayers from heaven and uphold their cause.” I Kings 8: 44-45

This world is not a tip toe through the tulips. It’s a mobilization through a battleground…a battleground we created when we invited sin and Satan in to play. But God has told us that if we let Him He will walk with us through the mine field. He will train our hands for war. He will give us the victory. He will uphold our cause.

What battle are you facing today that you need to ask God to walk with you through?
