Ruth is the little book full of riches written about the times of the Judges. Ruth was a woman who had lost a lot. She could have given up, instead she turned to God and “risked” all things to obtain everything. She showed such initiative how could God not have blessed her? Here are some sermon ideas I see in today’s chapters.
Ruth chapter 3 sermon topics/ titles:
1. Prepare For Blessing: Ruth 3:1-3
2. “Cover Me Kinsman Redeemer!” Ruth 3:6-9
3. Providing Something to Carry the Blessing: Ruth 3:15
Ruth chapter 4 sermon topics/ titles:
1. Paying the Price of Redemption: Ruth 4:1-6
2. The Blessing of Judah: Ruth 4: 11,12
3. In the Line of Kings: Ruth 4:18-22
Now tell me what you see in these chapters for possible sermon topics. I see at least three more! 🙂
Pastor J I really like these two, “Prepare for Blessing” and “In the Line of Kings”. Here’s what I saw.
Ruth 3
1. How are you preparing for your Redeemer? Ruth 3:1-9
2. With whom does your loyalty lie? Ruth 3:10
3. Are you anxiously waiting for Him? Ruth 3:17-18
Ruth 4
1. Who will redeem you? Ruth 4:1-8
2. The Lord has blessed us with a Redeemer. Ruth 4:14
3. Will you take care of your own? Ruth 4:7-22
“Will you take care of your own?” is a powerful question Deb! I also love the question “Who will redeem you?”
I love the book of Ruth . . .and would love to hear one of your or Debby’s sermons! 🙂 God bless you as you keep chapter charting!
Thanks Deb! You never know, PAstor Wrinkles may soon preach from Ruth!
I wonder if I can ask a question here, and I don’t intend it to be irreverent, disrespectful or flippant, okay? Ruth was still a fairly young woman, right? I wonder how she’d have responded, how the story would have played out–had she been older (like 60, for example). God bless you and the fam, Pastor J–love, sis Caddo
It’s an intereesting question Sis. Not irreverent at all. It speaks to the fact that our God knows our every day and brings us to the proper place at the proper time to fulfill His plan.
The Lord directed me to start reading the Book of Ruth this morning—actually about 4 hours ago. Interesting huh?
Be blessed again Pastor!
Stephanie
That is cool Stephanie. I wonder what God is trying to show you.
I do not know… yet! But I anticipate, as always, it is something I need… for correction, reproof, instruction in righteousness or doctrine! Whatever it is, I KNOW it is for His glory!
Blessings as you share with us
Stephanie
Thank you Stephanie. I look forward to reading what the Lord gives you!
