“ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:3,4 KJV
In our last posts we spoke about why it is necessary to contend for the faith. If you remember I mentioned that one of the reasons we must contend is because God has delivered the faith into our hands. Because of this our faith will never go beyond the level at which we fight for it. If you missed these discussions you can find them here:

Now all the lofty thoughts from my last post aside, Jude verse 4 tells us that the reason that we should contend for the faith is not just because it’s our responsibility but because there is something to defend the faith against. “there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Now I have to ask, “How do ungodly men creep into the church without other people being aware of it?”
How is it that 2000 years after the Lord created the church we are still struggling against people who are turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
I have my answers but before I give them I would love to hear yours! 🙂
