Ah yes! it is the Olympics and so two of our questions are about them this week. On the surface it may seem simple but to a geek like me who has trouble keeping track of which sports have bases and which have goals…not so much. Still I shall endeavor to do my best.
- If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels?
It was good of Cee to start out with an easy question. If I am writing a story then I write novel length. I like to have space for my characters to stretch out. If I am writing theology then my work tends to be a little shorter. I feel you should be able to cover a Bible Study in 6 to twelve weeks using a one hour format for each lesson. - If you had only one book you could write what would it be about? Assume it is a top 10 seller of any genre. I would say theology. I have always thought we all need to know more about God.
- Did you watch the opening of the Olympics in London? What was your favorite part of the opening?
I actually did this year! That is more shocking to me than probably to anyone else. I liked the smoke stack thing and the entrance of the rings. - What is your favorite summer Olympic event or events? The family responses to the Olympians. If that’s not an event it really should be. 🙂
1. If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels?
– Poems. why? because you can send a message indirectly to un suspecting reader
or hide a message from the common people and your intended audience benefits from it
2. If you had only one book you could write what would it be about? Assume it is a top 10 seller of any genre.
– a book
3. Did you watch the opening of the Olympics in London? What was your favorite part of the opening?
– yes i did.
– i only remember 2 things. the good part and the bad part
– my favorite part is the piece intro, when the orchestra played “Chariots of Fire”
– when a guy monotonously and repeatedly was hitting the same note
– and IT WAS MR BEAN, HAHAHAHAH! oh sorry.. Rowan Atkinson
4. What is your favorite summer Olympic event or events?
– the Korean women group archery vs china
– as far as I know, the koreans was on a 7 winning streak since the 80s
– I learn too that the koreans can shoot bulls eye and another arrow can go straight right in the middle splitting the previous arrow in the bulls eye.
I didn’t answer no.2. the finger is faster than the brain indeed! LoL
2. If you had only one book you could write what would it be about? Assume it is a top 10 seller of any genre.
– the title of the book would be “The Parallels”
– the book will be filled with Jesus’ shadows and types found in the scripture
– as well as Paul’s, Peters, James’s, John’s and the rest of the epistles, parallel to what Jesus taught in the scripture
– grace and peace
Oh I thought you were being funny when you said -“a book”. I like this answer much better!
That’s the price i have to pay for being a comedian 🙂
🙂
Great answers!
You did so good , Pastor J, answering these questions! 🙂 You impressed me, so it’s all good! 🙂 God bless you and yours!
Lol! Thanks! You didn’t mind then that I thought parent reactions should be an Olympic sport? 🙂
I love your answers as always!! I usually don’t watch the opening of the Olympics either, but I did this year.
They were kind of neat. I thought the Peter Pan thing was a little weird especially the inflatable baby. 🙂
I don’t usually watch the opening of the Olympics. This year I did and found it rather confusing (maybe I wasn’t really watching). I did like the lighting of the flame. Did you know the “petals” were designed in Australia as well as the mechanism to raise them together? Maybe it is my spirit of patriotism that appreciated them, but I do think it was a novel idea and it looks good.
I did not know that Angela. That is really neat. I wonder what did you think of the Peter Pan theme?
As I said, I wasn’t really ‘watching’. I was doing some paper work while keeping half an eye on the TV. I did watch the Aussie’s entrance (I am VERY patriotic, in case you hadn’t already noticed) and the lighting of the flame, which I already knew was an Aussie work, but thought it was a masterpiece regardless of it being Aussie. I did realise stages of England’s history were being presented, and I did notice Mary Poppins (incidently, an Aussie author from 100kms from here) but I didn’t see anything of Peter Pan. Was there something in particular about it?
Nothing in particular. It was part of tribute to health care in England and at the end there was this inflatable baby in a crib which was sort of odd.
