Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 85

The God of the Christians is different from every other god mentioned in the pantheons made by men. That is of course because He alone is the real God. Throughout His Word He displays this truth again and again reinforcing the idea that because He is above all the other gods He is not to be worshiped as they are worshiped. Here is what I see from today’s chapters.

Deuteronomy chapter 12 sermon topics/ titles:

1. Do not worship as the world worships: Deut. 12:1-5

2. Feast and Rejoice! Deut. 12:7

3. Crossing Over To Change: Deut. 12:8-10

Deuteronomy chapter 13 sermon topics/ titles:

1. When the Lord Tests You With Prophets: Deut. 13: 1-3

2. Fear God Do Not Be Enticed: Deut. 13:4-11

3. Piling the Plunder To Please the Lord: Deut. 13:11-18

  1. “Do not worship as the world worships”, I really like this and I have a question. Why does it have to be so hard sometimes for you’re loved ones to see this truth? Here’s what I saw in these chapters.
    Deuteronomy12
    1. Cast out all other gods. Deut. 12:2-3
    2. He is calling you to His place of worship. Deut. 12:11
    3. Live with future generations in mind. Deut. 12:28
    Deuteronomy 13
    1. He’s been waiting for you, will you cling to Him? Deut. 13:4
    2. Are you willing to take a stand? Deut. 13:9
    3. Stand strong, deception is in the air. Deut. 13:12-18.

    • The reason it is so hard for loved ones to see the truth is answered by your second number three because deception is in the air. The worst problem with being deceived is that you think you are not. What did it take for us to come to that knowledge? Nothing short of a miracle and that is what is needed for our loved ones still walking in deception!
