Share Your World With Cee Cee Pt. 6

Some interesting getting- to- know- you questions from Cee Cee this week!

Here they are along with my answers:

  1. Do you believe in ghosts? O.K. so here’s the house I currently live in and grew up in. If ever there was a haunted house this would be it. It’s nigh onto a 125 years old with all the creaks and groans to show for it. But for all that I do not believe in ghosts at least not the dearly departed kind. I believe that when a person passes onto the next life they go to one of two possible destinations and one of those is not the home they lived in for fifty years. I do believe in spirits (of the angelic or demonic kind) and some of them have been known to masquerade as great Uncle Wally or sweet old Granny Jemima.
  2. What is your best recipe?   My best recipe is a sour cherry jelly
  3. What is your most favorite smell/scent? I love the smell of fresh herbs from my garden. My favorite has to be fresh cilantro in the summer and baked coriander seeds in the fall.
  4. What subject was your favorite in all of your schooling? Why? I loved English and languages, probably because I was good at them but also because I could always escape through a good book!

Thanks Cee Cee!

Heaven Pt. 50

“The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.” Deut. 11:10-12 NIV

“Reinventing the We’ll” has hit two milestones in a week! Pastor Wrinkle’s Chapter Charts has made it to post 75 and now The Heaven posts have reached number 50! More than that, tomorrow will mark my 500th post!Let’s celebrate!

I can honestly say this is not the work of JE Lillie. Left to my own devices I would have abandoned the blog long ago. I don’t have the drive to write daily. I know this because I have tried all my adult life  and have failed. But God has helped me even as He helped Israel when they went into the land. He has watched over me everyday and given me that which I could not provide for myself!

I was afraid to start blogging because I was afraid of failure. I knew what was in me and I knew it wasn’t enough. Maybe you are afraid of stepping into something too. Maybe you’ve grown comfortable where you are because you can handle where you are in your own strength. Maybe you’re just like the Israelites in Egypt.  For them it wasn’t good but at least they knew how to survive under their own steam. Perhaps you’re afraid to move into God’s plan because you think you  don’t have what it takes. The truth is you probably don’t. But when we move forward with God it’s not about our strength; It’s about His. Just like God watches over the land of Israel, so He watches over you! He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you.

“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.” Psm. 37: 5,6

Whatever it is that holds you back, give it to Jesus to take care of and move on!

Heaven Pt. 49

“Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude” Deut. 10:22 KJV

Remember Israel started as one small insignificant family tossed into a sea of troubled nations. Now it is the hinge on which the door to eternity hangs.

God’s chosen vessel is almost always the underdog, the dark horse, the runner lagging behind from the start of the race. The success of God’s ventures always rely on the inability and incompetence of God’s partners in business and the miracle of God.

So if God has made you a promise and you don’t see anyway in the natural for the thing to come to pass, relax that’s just you standing at the headwaters of God’s river. Take a step of faith into the river and see where the waters take you. It probably won’t be a comfortable ride, it will probably take you through some uncharted territory you never would have chosen. In the end it will be the great adventure He chose for you!

Notes From the Netherlands

While I am busy with C.cada here in the States my sister is helping Missionary Judy Mensch launch a Christian theater program in the Netherlands. Over Easter weekend their troupe performed its first show at Ichtus Church in Zaandam! Here are some pictures from the performance.

Share Your World With Cee Cee Pt. 5

So I am sharing my world again so that you can all discover  a bit more about me. Here are this weeks questions.

  1. Do you play video/computer game?  Which one(s) or most recent? I do not play video games. The most recent I played with any regularity was Frogger back when it first came out in the ’80’s…. Two left thumbs I’m afraid!
  2. When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?  I prefer pen most definitely! I actually have an ink quill from Venice which I keep in my office for special occasions.
  3. What has surprised me about blogging? I think the relationships have surprised me most. I have come to care so deeply about the community here on-line and to care about what the community thinks. One of my blog friends disappeared for a month a while back and I found myself praying daily for that person. Here was a person I had never seen even a picture of and who lived half way across the world…yet I was being drawn into prayer daily for their well-being. I realize I may never meet most of this community on this side of the veil but I am really looking forward to finding the blogger’s cafe in Heaven and sitting down to a Cup’o Joe with: Meetingintheclouds, ToniRand, iftodaywehear, ofdustandkings and so many more!
  4. If you had a shelf for your three most special possessions (not including people or animals), what would you put on it? My Bible, my mortar and pestle, and my laptop. I could keep life going pretty well with those three things! 🙂

Here are this week’s pictures:

Moxie Day a Maine Holiday! Who among you has had a taste of the powerful drink? If not I dare you…make this the year of Moxie!                                  Camden ME Harbor

Thanks again Cee Cee for these great questions!
