Not Strong Just Shiny

In my thirty years of Christianity one of the most poignant lessons I have learned is that following Christ doesn’t make you exempt from the battle, it just causes you to shine through it. I may not be very strong but I’m shiny and I’m impossible to kill! I’m on my way to the hill now to shine my light! 🙂 Anyone care to come along?

Share Your World With Cee Cee Pt. 2

So this is my second week sharing my world with Cee Cee and all her readers. Here are this week’s questions:

  1. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?  Such a hard question! There are so many places I would love to live. Left with one choice though I think I would choose the lakes region of England. Something about it evokes the writer in me.
  2. If your were car or truck what make, model, year and color would you be? I think I would be Subaru because they just keep going and that’s my goal to keep constant! Color don’t really matter just not white and I think pink is out. As to year that doesn’t really matter when you have eternal life! 🙂
  3. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? Oh my list is long but right up there at the top is to successfully publish.
  4. Where do you eat breakfast? I eat at home or in the car on the way to work, usually coffee and peanut butter toast. My van is for that reason a constant mess.

Here are this week’s picture offerings:

Heaven Pt. 45

“Therefore know this day, and consider [it] in your heart, that the LORD Himself [is] God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; [there is] no other.” Deut. 4:39

As I was putting together post forty four on Heaven from Deuteronomy 4:39 another thought came to my mind that I just couldn’t pass by. I don’t know how it is where you live but here in the U.S. we make much of our freedom of religion and the separation of church and state. We have been told by those who supposedly know that we no longer live in a Christian society but a pluralistic society. The whole world is called to turn to the tune of tolerance.

It bears keeping in mind that while that is the law of the land for the moment, in the Kingdom we are about to come into there is no freedom of religion. God is God alone and He does not think that “as long as you have faith in something…anything  it’s O.K.” In the end it’s not about faith alone it’s about faith placed in Jesus. Jesus is not one among many gods. He alone sits on the throne at the right hand of the Father and He has never been content to be worshipped alongside others. It might be the best our society can do for the moment but it won’t be good enough to save our current world system from the wrath to come.

It’s not a popular message,I suppose, but it is the truth!

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

May our hearts be steadfast!

C.cada Artists Gathering March

C.cada’s artists are busy about the work of the kingdom! Yesterday one of our new choreographers met with nine children from our kids church to rehearse a sacred dance. Later in the afternoon the space was used by a twenty voice choir to practice for an upcoming work in the nursing home. Space booking is getting a little tricky. I miss my sister who is a whiz at space control and time scheduling!

This month I wanted you to see some of the work we are doing in graphic design.

Here is a piece by one of our portrait artists, Lisa Johnson. It is a portrait of her grandmother who at the moment is preparing to walk into the arms of Jesus.

Lis a keeps telling me how she is desperately trying to break into other art forms. Yet she keeps getting drawn back to the faces of people.

I have just started working on a photo project called “Broken Branches”

Sandy Freeman another of our portrait artists has been working on our invitational card project. Below is a concept for a Mother’s Day invite.

What is God calling you to do with your artistry?

Heaven Pt. 44

“Therefore know this day, and consider [it] in your heart, that the LORD Himself [is] God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; [there is] no other.” Deut. 4:39 NKJV

While we may attempt to create many  roads to escape from the self-created pits we call our lives, there is but one road that will ever lead us out…one savior...one God.

Now the nations can rage against Him, talk about how unfair or capricious they think He is, the fact remains He is GOD and there is no other. He is king and in the end He will reign forever in justice, majesty and love. He is the only wayonly truth ..only life and no-one will come to the Father except through Him!

Let’s pray: Father I thank you for the day you removed my unbelief and helped me to embrace Your Son Jesus as my Savior. Today I recognize You as the only God and the only hope of my life. Lord I pray for my loved ones caught still in unbelief. Let them hear Your voice from Heaven even as I did. Let them become a part of Your forever reign. Please Lord do a quick work. My heart aches for those who have denied You! In Jesus Name A-men.

Heaven Pt. 43

“Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.” Deut. 4:36

One of Heaven’s most precious treasures is the voice of God. In that place the song of the Creator  continually shakes the temple. That voice, so seldom heard in our world, is considered a miracle by some and a delusion by others; But in Heaven it is the very essence of the atmosphere.

I love to hear His voice when it speaks in still small whispers here on Earth. But oh, how I long to hear it out loud echoing off of every golden mansion!

Let’s Pray: Father I thank you that You send Your voice from Heaven today to reveal Your will. Speak Lord for Your child is listening. Confirm for me through the Bible what Your voice speaks to my heart. Lord know I am longing for the day when I shall hear Your voice so much more clearly in the air of Heaven! In Jesus name A-men!

Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 68

File:Holman Destruction of Korah Dathan and Abiram.jpgWe are currently working our way through the Bible proving that 2 Timothy 3:16 is true.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”

The premise is that if ALL Scripture is inspired by God and useful then we ought to be able to find at least three sermon topics from every chapter in the Bible. I know it’s a little random but I had to set some standard so there you have it. Here’s  what I found in Number 16 and 17!

Numbers chapter 16 sermon topics/titles:

1. Appointed Versus Anointed: Nu. 16: 1-35

2. Jealousy Breeds Rebellion: Nu. 16: 8-14

3. A Brazen Reminder: Nu. 16: 36-40

Numbers chapter 17 sermon topics/titles:

1. God’s Patience: Nu. 17:1-12

2. God Gets the Choice. We Get the Benefits: Nu. 17:1-12

3. When Almonds Are Scarier Than Earthquakes: Nu: 17:1-12

Now you try! 🙂

Pastor Wrinkles: Chapter Charts Pt. 67

It is a strange truth about humans that most of us  are never comfortable  where we are until we have  moved on to a new place. Then we wish that we could somehow go back to what we use to complain about. The Israelites faced this human dilemma in Numbers. Here’s what I see in this day’s chapters.

Numbers chapter 14 sermon topics/titles:

1. When Slavery Looks Better: Nu. 14: 1-3

2. Choosing Pleasers Rather Than Leaders: Nu. 14: 4

3. “Calm Down God!” Nu. 4:5-25

Numbers chapter 15 sermon topics/titles:

1. Preparation Necessary: Nu. 15:1- 21

2. I Didn’t Realize! Nu. 15: 22-31

3.  The Need For Reminders: Nu. 15: 37-40

What would you write about from these chapters?
