In case you are just logging on, “Reinventing the We’ll” is in the middle of a word study. In the Heaven series we are taking time to meditate on every verse where “heaven” is mentioned. So far the Word has taken us over much territory as we think about The Far- Off-Country!
“This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the nations under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you, and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.” Deut. 2: 25 NKJV
The God promise to Israel of a home land was a fearful thing to the other inhabitants of Canaan. It meant certain destruction for all those who refused to accept God’s decree.
I am mindful that this is how it is with God and His promises. As He fulfills His promises to his faithful ones everyone who stands aligned outside of those promises faces anguish as what they have is taken away.
The Book of Revelation says that in the last days “the kings of the earth, the great men … hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! “For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Rev. 6:15-16
It’s important to note that in these verses Israel is not the source of judgment. The church is not the source of wrath. God is the source of judgment and wrath. He is the one who creates fear and anguish among those who refuse to make Him God. I shudder to think about the Day of the Lord and the wrath that will come with it.
Let’s pray: God we have heard your Word. We know it’s true. A day of wrath and punishment is coming for all those who will not bow their knee to the cross of Christ. Jesus intensify our witness and melt the hearts of the rebellious with Your love. Have mercy Oh God for our sakes! Have mercy on those we know who are lost. Let our love draw them into the promise dear Jesus A-men!
Praying with you, Pastor J. Here’s a song . . .
This song has always haunted me. I weep for those who shall not be ready!
Pastor J . . .it makes me cry. Someone else posted about this very song and so I looked it up for them. And then here too. I want us all to be ready and none to perish. Praying to use each day for Him, so others might know His great love for them and come to Him now. God bless you!
Amen Deb! May we all “redeem the time for the days are evil” as Paul says! May we bear much fruit for the kingdom!
Lord, hear this prayer for so many are lost. Let them be drawn to Your light in us and if not our light then use others that will touch their hearts. Thank you, Pastor J for this prayer and I join with you in praying this. Harvest your souls, Lord. I love the song Debbie posted above. Lord, help us to do your work so no one is left behind. A-men!!!
A-men Deb! Let us believe together for a great last days harvest of souls!
I join you in this wonderful and powerful prayer! Thank you and praise Him!
A-men!
Oh Pastor how very often I try my best to pray for others to come running to Jesus, for we know those days will be horrible for real.I am enjoying the word study.
Love you Pastor Jelillie
Thanks Pat! May God give us a harvest of souls for His kingdom!
As we go about our daily lives, we need to see people as if they were on the brink of a Christless eternity and facing the wrath of God. We need to tell them of the great love of God when He poured out His wrath on His own beloved Son – wrath undeserved but borne willingly to pay the penalty for my sin. We need to tell them that the wrath of God is only now due to those who have not identified with the crucified Christ.
Lord, open our eyes that we may see people though Your eyes and love them with Your love!
A-men! Lord hear this prayer!
