Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Ma. 28:18-20 NLT
Each of the flags along the back wall of our church represents a missionary we support somewhere in the world.
My sister is a missionary associate heading to the Netherlands. I have watched her walk the road of raising her funds. It is most definitely a faith walk. How beautiful that the church of Jesus Christ gets the opportunity to invest in the lives of men and women called of God to bring the last days harvest.
A wise man once said to me “show me your spending and I will tell you what you value.”
Honestly at the time if I had shown him my spending habits he would have said I valued restaurants and Wal-Mart more than the last days harvest.
God has been asking me to simplify my life over the last year. It’s a work in progress, but I do know that I am on track to meeting the giving goals God has spoken into my heart.
Tell me, what is God doing with your giving?
God has spoken to me that in this time of unemployment don’t stop giving, in fact, give more. Oh, how I am blessed so abundantly especially in my prayer life. God is calling me closer and closer to Him. God is so great.
This is called giving out of your need. May God bless you richly as you follow Him!
Thank you, Pastor J
I like the idea of using a flag as a visual representation of the mission field … I like that very much.
He has been speaking to me. The last five or so years have been a grand revelation, layer after layer. Even now I`m still learning more. When I give to the point where I think I have nothing else to give, He shows up and reveals other ways I can share with others. How great is our God!
Thank you for sharing
Blessings

A-men Ann! Like I said to Angela He has a way of making much out of my little!
We cannot out-give God because He always uses a bigger shovel – and I believe this refers not only to money but also to giving our time to encourage and help those in need.
This is so true Angela. I have seen God multiply every resource I had. In God’s kingdom 1+1= 30, 60, 0r 100 depending on what we need!
Pastor J, thank you for listening and learning and sharing with us about giving. The last two months, He has asked me to give more to missions. I only clean one house once a week and deliver a little paper route, once a week. How Lord? I can’t tell you how, but the money is there to give. 🙂 Isn’t He a God of miracles?
God bless you as you give!
God once told me he wanted me to give more to missions. I got really mad at Him because I felt like I had nothing more to give. God said, “Child it is a faith promise. You don;t have to give it if I don’t provide it. Can you trust me for a dime a day?” Begrudgingly I said yes. Do you know I found a dime everyday for the next year. Some days they even came in the mail! I was so challenged and blessed that year. I hope you have such a year this year! 🙂
