Gotta Stand Pt. 10

Today we are going to finish up our study in Ephesians Chapters 4 through 6. Paul writes:

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we  are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly placesTherefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”

We discussed yesterday how living for God was only possible through trusting God. It is God who truly changes our behavior not us. But behavior, important as it is,  is not the fix either. Good behavior doesn’t destroy storms. Only God can do that; But God will flow through our lives more and more as we begin to live right for Him, shutting down storms as He goes.

As we live for God we have to take one more step if we want to stand through our storms effectively. We have to put on His armor. We have to call forth the supernatural power of God into our lives. We have to ask him for miracles. When the answers of man will not make the grade then the miracles of God are needed. The miracles of divine truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and rhema word are needed in our situations today. They will be needed even more in the days ahead.

So church what are we going to do? We’ve gotta stand!

  1. Putting all my trust in God, for He is the only one who can carry me through the storms. We must stand up and be strong in the Lord together. I can already see how times are changing especially in my own family. My unsaved loved ones try to explain away God’s miracles. “You weren’t really healed by God. You probably didn’t even have that peanut allergy anyways. There’s some other explanation for it but it’s certainly not God. Come on.” All I can do is continue to profess God’s love for me and stand my ground for I know the truth. We must stand on His promises and speak the Truth to people no matter how uncomfortable we feel. Time is short, for our Lord and Savior is coming sooner than we think. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!! I can’t wait for that glorious day.
God Bless you, Pastor J. This was such a great series. Thanks.

  2. Thank you, Pastor J

Although I have been following `from a distance`, I have been well fed. Thank you for the simple truths!

“God will flow through our lives more and more as we begin to live right for Him, shutting down storms as He goes.”
We do all He tells us to do, and having done all, we stand. Stand in His armour, stand in His truth, stand in the knowledge that the Alpha & Omega is on our side. How amazing is that!

Praying we will delight in standing in Him.

    Blessings,
    ann

P.S. Thanks again for the wonderful series. I have enjoyed the journey (as always.)

  3. Thank you for the series and the teaching about standing and change! I love how He is using you to prepare us! Praying that we press in closer to Him, putting our trust in Him and putting on His armor each day. Now is the right time!
God bless you, Pastor J, as you share the messages He brings to you!

  4. “And having done all to stand”
When we do our part – putting on the armour provided – God does His part.
Even though we “do our part” there is no glory to us: it is all His, because the faith and will to put it on comes from Him.

As the world becomes more and more anti-God, it is becoming more and more necessary to “stand” – to stand with all the resources of God, in His name and in His power, speaking His Word.

  5. Hi Pastor J,

“And having done all to stand.” On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand! As long as we are standing on the solid rock, the stone which the builder’s rejected, which has become the Chief Cornerstone, Jesus Christ, our foundation is sure! “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Praise God, through all of my storms, I’m still standing! Glory to God!

Thank you for presenting such a wonderful series! God bless you!
