1. What did Jesus die for?
2. What mission did He leave the church with?
3. What did Jesus give us to help us fulfill the mission?
4. How many of you are committed to waiting for the baptism in the Holy Spirit?
Jesus gave us a mission called the Great ______________.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28:19,20
Tonight I want to share with you _____________ ways in which you can fulfill the Great Commission with the help of the Holy Spirit. ( These 5 ideas were collated by Teen Mania’s Honor Academy)
Understand the Holy Spirit will need to help you whichever ______________ he calls you to use. Also the Holy Spirit will tell you which method is for ______________. For most of us it will probably be a blend of all ____________.
I. ______________- This involves you becoming a missionary. It can be either _______________ or a short ____________.
“…go and make disciples of all nations,” Matthew 28:19
II. ______________- This involves you making a faith pledge and it involves you partnering with a missionary to meet their expenses. “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us…if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously;” Romans 12:6,8
III. _______________: This is a powerful ministry that bears much fruit. There are people who spend countless hours crying out to God for missionaries.
“Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,” Eph. 6:19
IV. ______________- This involves not just giving money but providing missionaries with the things they need to do their job. Partnering with them to meet their needs and even to the point of training missionaries.
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Eph. 4:11
V. Finally ________________: This is the act of causing the body of Christ to recognize that missions is the heart beat of God.
“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.” 2 Cor. 9:12,13
Now in your groups:
1. Which of these methods seems to fit you the best? Why?
2. Which one of these methods seems to fit you the least? Why?
3. Circle the commitment you are ready to make tonight towards missions.
I am ready to go
I am ready to give
I am ready to pray
I desire to equip
I desire to promote.
